Announcing Matt Clark as new President and CEO of Nature and Culture International

Nature and Culture International’s Board of Directors has appointed Matt Clark as President and CEO of the organization.

About Matt Clark

Matt and his family have lived in Loja, Ecuador, for the last three years, during which he served as an advisor in Nature and Culture International’s Loja office. Before that, for seven years Matt was the Executive Director of a conservation nonprofit in his native city Portland, Oregon. He has also worked extensively on natural resources issues for Native American tribal governments in New Mexico and Eastern Oregon. He has a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Yale University.

Among other qualities, our Board sought a trusted leader who was a trained conservationist committed to Nature and Culture International’s model of collaborative, entrepreneurial conservation. Matt is that leader. Given the number of groups we work successfully with, we were impressed by Matt’s proven track record in building public – private partnerships and finding common ground among multiple diverse communities to advance shared conservation goals.

Matt and his family will be in Ecuador for three more months, then will move to the United States, though Matt will continue to spend significant time in all the countries where Nature and Culture International has a presence.
